Community First Responders set up by North West Ambulance Service as first to respond to a medical emergency when an Ambulance has been dispatched. Coniston First Responders were formed in 2004 and are all volunteers undertaking monthly training and annual assessments to ensure competency and skills are kept up to date. We have three static responder bags situated at strategic locations within the village and have five roving bags held at Responder homes. Average time from activation to arrival is 3 minutes. We respond 24 hours a day in all weather conditions. All equipment, pagers and room hire for meetings are paid for by donations and grants received from local organisations.

The Village Table is a local collective initiated by Grizedale Arts, where home cooks and local food suppliers initiate creative food events and provide outside catering for local and national celebrations and get-togethers. It has developed from the many memorable events created by Grizedale Arts at the Institute, celebrating food, hospitality and farming alongside the work of artists and designers.
Enjoying healthy food from local growers and farmers as well as from all around the world is key to The Village Table, and the group has many specialities ranging from the traditional pie to the Japanese bento box.
To discuss hiring The Village Table to cater for your forthcoming event (big or small, at the Institute or elsewhere) please contact Adam here.
