Our small Library was saved from closure in 2012 and revived by a design project led by Grizedale Arts in which acclaimed artist Liam Gillick redesigned the shelves and furnishings.

The Library operates a self-service system for those wishing to borrow books. Register with Cumbria Libraries in advance to do so. If you are a visitor, you are welcome to sit and browse the stock. There is a Local Interest reference section full of historic and contemporary books on the local area and culture.

The Library has free wifi and can be booked for small meetings and study groups all day on Tuesdays and Thursdays and after 5pm on Monday, Wednesday & Fridays.
